The Cosmic Wonders
Meenakshi Mohan
Enchanted
I watched
from my window, the full moon
spreading its pearly chroma
on the anchal of the deep blue brine
and the waves playfully
playing hide and seek
with its silver glory
Enraptured
I cognized
the welkin from far above
draped in sapphire hues
crossed its threshold
to kiss the ocean’s edge –
It was breathtakingly beautiful,
a divine revelation.
Entranced
I witnessed
the ocean and sky all wrapped
in cerulean, blue in the quiet of the night
only the ripples of the waves
resonated the rhapsodies of love.
Mesmerized
I behold
the ocean rose drenched in the elixir of love,
wrapped the sky in its depth
was this the divine cotilion of
Zeus and Amphitrite, a heavenly sight
veiled by the hills.
Ah!
The poor pebbled beach
along the shore
parched and desolate
waited still – longing for a kiss.
while a delicate breeze
carried forth a mystical melody
was it the raag malkauns?
Bewildered
I wondered
how the mystery and beauty
with sinfonia of its own, would fade
as the dawn breaks, embers expire
leaving only echoes of a fading choir,
and the glistening stones on the shore
as a testament to the cosmic wonders.
