Water: Shootings
there’s blood in the water
plasma spinning away from the bodies
carried out of sight into the ocean of violence
to dissolve in the universal solvent
sharks circle briefly
tearing the body apart for ammunition
till all that’s left is blood
90% water, and dispersed quickly
tears fall for the body
lost to waves of rising violence
but they fall silently
and the trail they make is washed away
only remembered by the reservoir
3.8 billion years old
that still immortalizes each death
in a hydrogen bond
